Continuity matters
A weather archive is useful only when gaps are visible. A connection outage can distort a daily average or hide the real minimum and maximum.
How the watchdog works
The sensor normally submits a reading about once a minute. The site reports a delay after ten minutes and a likely outage after thirty minutes. A health endpoint can also be used by an external monitor.
Missing is not zero
A missing point must not be replaced with zero or an invented value. Charts use measured data only, and statistical tables include the sample count.
A trustworthy archive
A visible station status lets visitors distinguish a fresh reading from an old last value. The same transparency matters when comparing days, months and years.
